The Partridge belongs to the Galliformes and the Pasianidae
family. It originated in South-West Europe - Manchuria. It was defied
by the Greeks and considered a very choice repast by the Romans,
and was much featured in 19 th century painting. The fowl forms an important part of the culinary tradition of game;
its meat is characteristically smooth textured with a delicate flavour. Its meat is also rich in proteins of a high biological value and
is very healthy due to its low calorie and carbohydrate content with
minimum fat. |
